Joyce Carreira, was born in Pretoria, South Africa in 1972. Raised in Pretoria, she studied at the University of Pretoria after matriculating from Pro-Arte High School. In 2003 she decided to become a full time artist. Joyce a South African artist known for her unique interpretation of the beauty and sensuality of women can be seen in her sculptures and paintings, she specializes in the human anatomy and this has led her on a journey of discovery into the depiction of the female form.
