Blessing Ngobeni was born in the small rural town of Tzaneen, Limpopo. At the age of ten he moved to Johannesburg where he entered the contemporary art scene. Blessing Ngobeni is a fine artist who creates abstract works of art with a variety of different objects. His large-scale mixed media unique styled paintings are fiercely critical of the country’s political elite and the abuse of power. His artwork includes compulsive mark-making and plenty of overt political references.
Blessing Ngobeni has held numerous solo exhibitions both locally and internationally, receiving many awards and artistic merit accolades in the art world. He is considered as one of the best contemporary artists in South Africa.
