Description

Zakkie Eloff (1925 – 2004) worked in oil, watercolour, ink, wash, monotype and etching. He studied at Pretoria Boys High School. In 1957 he studied graphic techniques at the Central School of Art, London.

He taught at Pretoria Technical College and later at the University of Pretoria. He has illustrated various books. He worked as a Game Ranger in the Etosha Game Reserve, Namibia. In 1969 he moved with his wife and three small children to White River, near the Kruger National Park.

His etchings capture the character and movement of animals in the veld.
