Louis Audie
South Africa 1935 – 2015

Louis Audie was a South African painter. He was known as the contemporary father of modern landscape oil painting. He was a self taught artist using whatever materials he could lay his hands on and through constant effort and practice he developed his own technique and is today known as an expert in fine art oil painting of landscapes and seascapes in the modern South Africa.

His style was not greatly influenced by experience. His attention to detail and overall mood of his landscapes made his work sort after by native South Africans and visitors alike.

Louis believed that he brought the African Sunlight into many homes, corporate offices and boardrooms of many people with his landscapes and wildlife paintings which are realistic with a touch of impressionism. Among his many mentors are; W. H. Coetzer. Gerrie Snyman. and Thornley Stewart.
