Description

Esté Mostert is a South African Postwar & Contemporary painter who was born in 1959. From a very young age Esté Mostert exhibited an interest for fine arts. Esté is a diverse artist, her artworks  were originally in the form of ink sketches which progressed to water colours, techniques of acrylic gauche and pastel, works in oils, acrylics and glaze. Her artworks come alive through complete integration of colour and light, composition and atmosphere strengthened by means of line and brush strokes, individual style and character. Her desire to express her creative abilities and attributes, started with her experimenting with mixed media. Her technique in these mediums is based on Impressionism and reflects a shared experiences lying beyond reality. Her artworks have a touch of Cezanne and a dash of Matisse, portraying esoteric figures that are frozen in a fleeting instant of time.
