Barbara Ploner (1946 – )
A self-taught South African 20th Century artist. Her style is unique and semi-impressionistic.
Her style conveys colourful interpretations of African people and moody landscapes and seascapes. She is a versatile artist working in both oils and acrylics.
Her works have been exhibited extensively and grace both private and corporate collections in South Africa and internationally. Selected Exhibitions: The South African Cardiff Arts, Culture and Decor Show (UK), The National Black Arts Festival (USA), The New York Art Expo (USA), The Madiba Restaurant (USA), The Antiquarius Gallery in Soho (USA).
Ploner was one of a selected few South African artists invited to produce artworks for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, displayed at the draw in Cape Town (2009). These works have been recognized as Official Licensed Products of this event.
