Anton Uys is a Johannesburg based South African, Postwar & Contemporary artist born in 1947.
Anton Uys made an impression on the South African and International art scene with artworks in private, corporate and institutional collections locally and abroad.
He uses nature to express his strife for harmony, equilibrium and wholeness, in the Jungian sense, fusing the conscious and the unconscious. He is a painter that uses private truths, lines, shapes, forms, colours, images creating unrealistic, mystic and Zen-like attributes landscapes of the spirit, with reference to sky, land, sea and mountains.”
