Andre De Beer 1933 –
Born in Potchefstroom in 1933, André de Beer is widely regarded as one of South Africa’s most versatile postwar artists. His versatile repertoire spans portraits, landscapes, still life, and caricatures. He is also the father of the acclaimed impressionistic-realistic painter Stefan de Beer.  De Beer focused heavily on art education:Completed his schooling at Helpmekaar High School in Johannesburg.Earned a BA degree and a Master’s degree in isual/Fine Arts from the University of Pretoria.Attained a Bachelor’s degree in Sculpture Art from UNISA. Served as chairman of the National Art Association of South Africa and contributed heavily to provincial and national art curricula. De Beer is celebrated for his incredible adaptability across mediums, oils, pastels, and sketching. His work famously depicts traditional South African landscapes, street studies, and highly detailed portrait studies.  He exhibitions include, Frankfurt at the invitation of the South African Consul General,  London under an invitation from Eskom,  RSA Ambassador to the Czech Republic invited him to exhibit during “South African Week,” where all 37 of his featured paintings were purchased by embassies.
