Description

Paul was born in Cape Town in 1959. He matriculated at Thornton High where he studied commercial art. Under the guidance of his father, Gordon Munro, Paul started painting and drawing from an early age. Whilst he was a schoolboy, his paintings were displayed and sold by art galleries in Cape Town.

Paul spends periods completely isolated from civilization, comparing the rhythmic forms of local landscapes and has developed a close emotional accord with nature and the skill needed to express these emotions. In his own words “if you want to paint a mountain you first have to climb it”. This adherence to factual truthfulness is a fruit Paul has treasured throughout his career.

Public collection and commissions include Cape Town and East London, parliamentary members and various Ambassadorial Embassies, SA Police Reaction Headquarters, Cape Town.

Paul is now residing in East London where he is prolifically painting landscapes, seascapes and figures.
