Doyly John (1906 – 1993)
Cecil Rochfort D’Oyly John was a South African-born British painter known for his brightly coloured, stylised landscapes from all around the world. John used the palette knife to great effect in his works. A number of his paintings were acquired by the Queen Mother (when she was Queen) for the Royal collection and his work is to be seen in other notable collections throughout the world.
