WHITE RIVER – Braam van Wijk’s art gallery in the Casterbridge Lifestyle Centre needs no introduction. The work of this esteemed artist’s students, however, was introduced to and celebrated by the public during an exhibition on Saturday. Judging by the public’s adoration of their work, we can expect much more from their talented hands.
Van Wijk celebrates his students. “Each one is an individual in their own right. When people create, their individuality is expressed.” “The energy that flows when this happens, is celebrated today,” he says. He teaches his students with great care and each one has a special place in his heart. This was clear when he called each exhibiting student forward. After teaching and studying their creative works, he is able to comment on each one’s character and the way it etches itself onto a canvas or drawing board.
